Smobilpay App Privacy policy

Introduction

This privacy policy covers the apps listed below and collectively referred to as “App or Apps” in this Privacy Policy:

      • Smobilpay Agent

      • Smoprint v2

    The Apps are free and require zero payment from the user.

    The Apps are developed by Maviance GbmH, whose registered office is located in Brüderstr 63, 04103 Leipzig – Germany and is registered in Germany under the registration number HRB 24737 Leipzig. Maviance GmbH is a software development and technology service provider that specializes in digital transformation and in developing custom solutions for its customers, in the area of banking & finance, smart metering, visa management solutions and e-government.

    The Apps are operated by Maviance PLC, an independent company, whose registered office is located in 8520 Rue de l’Hotel de Ville, Bonanjo, Douala – Cameroon and registered with the Douala Trade Register under number RC/DLA/2021/M/4020. Maviance PLC operates the Apps to offer and commercialize Smobilpay Service to customers in Cameroon and the CEMAC region in its capacity as a company specialized in making financial services affordable for the masses through partnerships with the CEMAC region.

    Maviance (“we, us or our”) hereinafter refers to Maviance PLC as operator of the Service and only where applicable to Maviance GmbH as application developer and data controller.

    This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service.

    If you choose to use our Smobilpay Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

    The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at Smobilpay unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

     

    Information Collection and Use

    Personal Data means information of any type that makes it possible to identify, directly or indirectly, a living natural person. This includes, for example, a name, address, telephone number, but also login and encrypted data and other types of electronic identifiers (e.g. IP addresses) in case this data could be associated with a living natural person. The information we learn from customers helps us personalize and continually improve your Smobilpay experience.

    We collect Personal Data about you when you visit our Sites or use our Services, including the following information:

       

        • Registration Information: When you register to use our Services by creating an account, we collect the Personal Data necessary to provide and provide you with the Services you request.  We ask you to provide us with your phone number, email address. We may also ask you to provide us with additional Personal Data when you use our Services, including:

             

              • The identity document (national card, passport)

              • Your photo,

              • Your address information

          • General information: When you use our services, we have access to the following information:

               

                • Unique identifier for your device,

                • The brand of the phone (its model),

                • The operating system

                • The phone carrier used by the phone to connect

            • Transaction Information: When you use our Services or access our Sites, for example to pay for bills, send or collect money, we collect information about the transaction, as well as other information associated with the transaction, such as the bill details, amount, merchant information, including information about the payment instruments used to complete the transaction.

            • Personal Data about you from external sources: We obtain information from external sources, such as merchants, data providers and credit agencies, to the extent permitted by law.               • Other information collected about your use of our Sites or Services: We may collect additional information from or about you when you communicate with us, contact our customer support teams, or respond to a survey.

             

            Log Data

            We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

             

            Retention of Personal Data

            We retain Personal Data in an identifiable format for the minimum time necessary to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations, and for our operational purposes. We may retain Personal Data for longer periods than required by law to defend our legitimate business interests, but not to violate the law.

            Cookies are files with small amount of data that is commonly used an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your device internal memory.

                  • To manage risk and protect , the Services and you from fraud by verifying your identity. Smobilpay’s risk management and anti-fraud tools use Personal Data, device information, and geolocation information from our Apps.

                  • To comply with our obligations and enforce the terms of our Site and Services, including to comply with all applicable laws and regulations

                    Sharing Personal Data

                    We may share your Personal Data or other information about you with third parties in specific circumstances. We may disclose your Personal Data or other information for the following reasons:

                       

                        • With subsidiaries of the Finafrik and Maviancewe may share your Personal Data with subsidiaries of the Finafrik and Maviance, in particular to provide the Services you have requested or authorised, manage risks, detect and prevent potentially illegal and fraudulent acts and other violations of our regulations and conditions, and manage the availability and connectivity of products.

                        • With other companies that provide services to us: We share Personal Data with third-party service providers who perform services and perform specific functions on our instructions and on our behalf, including the department in charge of verifying your identity, screening your profile on sanctions lists. Such third-party providers may, for example, provide you with Services, verify your identity, assist in processing transactions, send you advertisements about our products and services, or provide customer support.

                        • With regulatory authorities: We share Personal Data with regulatory authorities upon their request, in accordance with the law. 

                        • With other parties involved in transactions when you use the Services, such as other Users and merchants: We may share information about you and your Account with other parties involved in processing your transactions, including other Users to whom you send money or receive money, merchants and their service providers and our payment processor.   Information may include:
